CEP 121: TWO WEEK COURSE
by tiffini turner - Wednesday, 7 August 2013, 01:18 PM

TWO WEEK COURSE

The Introduction to College course will be from August 12th-23rd. The course will  start at 7:30 AM and ending at 3:00 PM every day. You will not be fully enrolled with NSHS until you have completed the Enrollment Verification form at the Introduction to College course and verified that you have a complete schedule according to NSHS Academic Plan guidelines. Upon completing all phases of enrollment and providing all required documents, students will receive a welcome letter (by standard mail or by email):

Juniors-Minimum of 6 classes required (including English, math and history/government)
Seniors-Minimum of 4 classes required (including English, math and history/government)

Missing more than two days for any reason will result in failing the course with an “F” on the student’s high school transcript.  The class will fulfill half of a high school elective credit and is essential for obtaining information on everything students need to know for a successful start at NSHS, including purchasing textbooks, and how to successfully transition personally, academically, and socially into the college environment.

Please come prepared to work and bring:

  • A black, 3-ring binder with front cover insert for your Regent’s portfolio
  • Notebook and/or binder with paper for note taking
  • Writing Utensil (two-No.2 pencils)
  • 50-100 note cards
  • Your own lunch or money to purchase lunch (see MOODLE for list of available locations)
  • The Student Handbook Acknowledgment page signed by the parent/guardian and student (handbooks are available on the www.earlycollegeNV.com website and MOODLE)

We are looking forward to an exciting year with many motivated students. Please feel free to visit the website, submit a help ticket at help.earlycollegenv.com, or contact the office at (702) 953-2600, if you have any questions.
